Color for a cause has been the theme at Metro Offices in October! In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month and 2015’s Week of Action, our team donned purple on #PurpleThursday, October 22, to support the effort to end domestic violence. Sadly, one in four women and one in seven men in the United States have been the victims of severe physical violence. Anyone can be a victim of domestic violence, regardless of race, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation or economic status. If you or someone you know needs help, information is available at http://www.thehotline.org/, or call (800) 799-7233.
On Friday, October 23, our center teams dressed in pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Awareness is crucial to the fight against breast cancer: when breast cancer is detected early and remains localized, the five-year relative survival rate is 100%! Strategies for early detection include doing monthly breast self-exams, and scheduling regular clinical breast exams and mammograms as recommended by age. For more information on early detection research and educational programs, visit
