FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Washington, D.C., March 17, 2014 — Kathlene Buchanan, President and Founder of Metro Offices, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Global Workspace Association (GWA), an international trade association representing those who provide workspace services, including office business center owners and operators.
“I am truly honored to assume this position,” said Buchanan. “GWA gives its members an invaluable professional edge, and I look forward to sharing my experience and knowledge to further advance the workspace-as-a-service industry. I would also like to thank my staff for working to set the standard for business excellence.”
Under Buchanan’s leadership, Metro Offices has steadily evolved into a leading provider of innovative workspace solutions for small and large-scale businesses, as well as government agencies and government contractors. It has been named to the “Inc. 5000 List of Fastest-Growing Companies,” “SmartCEO 100 Best-Run Companies,” and Washington Business Journal’s “Top 25 Women-Owned Businesses.” The company offers a total of nine center locations in metropolitan Washington, DC, northern Virginia, and Maryland. 2014 marks its 25th anniversary.
“I would like to warmly welcome Kathlene to the board,” said Annette Reizburg, GWA President. “Not only does Kathlene come to the board with experience and great success in our industry but with a mindset for embracing change. Certainly, GWA needs to evolve and change as the world of work, technology, mobility trends and lifestyle choices force us to look at things very differently. Associations today need strong leaders and quick change artists to guide them through the exciting yet challenging task of reinvention. Kathlene is that kind of leader and we’re so happy to have her on the board!”
Buchanan fills the term of Jeremy Neuner of NextSpace, who resigned his seat.
