It’s so easy to get caught up in the every day tasks of running your business that you may find yourself stuck on autopilot mode – which means you are doing things simply because that is what you have always done. This is especially true when it comes to decision-making. We make numerous daily decisions (estimated guesses run from 600 to 10,000 on average!) that it can be easy to shut the brain off and just proceed as normal. What shirt do I wear? Do I want milk in my coffee? Should I take the toll road or the highway to the office?
But you don’t want to get into this rut when it comes to running your business. Every so often, it’s necessary to take a step back and really examine the choices you make when it refers to your business. Here are some questions you should be asking yourself about your daily and weekly routines:
- Am I getting different results now compared with six months ago?
- Has anything changed that will affect the results I get now?
- Have my definitions of success and results changed?
- Is what I’m doing still working?
- What do I need to start or stop doing in order to get different results?
- Are there tasks I should be delegating to others?
If you take a hard look at these questions and really commit to finding their answers, it will help you assess your current situation and show you what steps you need to take next in order to keep cultivating successful results. Business paradigms are constantly evolving, and your strategies need to evolve with them.
